In scientist Emile Tassel’s Brussels home, this staircase was designed and built in 1893 by the great Nouveau and Deco designer and architect Victor Horta, who also designed other parts of the house – which is generally considered the first true Art Nouveau structure.
Simply elegant! The wall design complements that carpet on the floor. The color is harmonious and so as the shape of the staircase. This is genius design.
I wrote an entire paper in design school about the Tassel house! In a word- stunning!
