the new Columbia/Tristar kids’ film Zathura, based on the childrens book of the same name, seems (at least from the trailer) to take place primarily inside a beautiful Greene-style Craftsman home. Take a look at the beautiful stained glass in the front door and the cloud lifts throughout the house! The film is directed by actor (and now director) Jon Favreau, who I have been told lives in a gorgeous Craftsman in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles.
What are some other films that feature Craftsman structures in supporting roles?
I don’t know about films, but the heroine of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” (and her mom and sister) live in a nice Craftsman home in the fictional California town of Sunnyvale.

… or watch nearly any episode for exterior and interior shots. (The interior is mostly modern-style, not authentic Arts and Crafts, but the exterior is lovely.)
Actually there are some nice touches with the furniture. In particular there’s a sideboard with a nice art tile backsplash. Also Giles’ apartment is an interesting period Spanish Mission style building.
Other touches include Angel’s one time residence which echoed Frank Lloyd Wright’s textile block houses from California.
There are some interesting bonus features on the DVD sets about the set design.
Another show with an interesting bungalow and furnishings is NUMB3RS.
Either I watch these shows way to much or I pay more attention to the furnishings and architecture than the plots.
I think I’ve seen several vampire movies where the bad guy lived in the Ennis-Brown house. Something about those concrete blocks must scream child-of-the-night to film directors.
