Flickr user Ceriess has a gorgeous collection of Grueby, Faience and other A&C pottery; I’m also trying not to be jealous of the beautiful Stickley bed, magazine rack and other furnishings in his especially attractive 1910 San Francisco home (and that view!).
That house is certainly a good example of the whole being much better than the parts. I normally don’t care much for Stickley furniture (I usually see houses with one piece of Stickley around a mismatch of other furniture, or houses that have it heaped together in the crazed collector style), but all of the pieces they’ve got nicely reinforce their house and each other. Almost nobody has that sort of design sense, so it’s so nice that they’re showing it off.
I wonder if being able to return to a house like this makes the commute down to Silicon Valley bearable?
