Laura Wilder, printmaker

wilder-spiral-couch-womanThe beautiful and talented Laura Wilder is an illustrator and printmaker based in Rochester, New York. Her work is based quite solidly in the deco and Craftsman traditions, and Seccessionist patterns find their way into all sorts of little nooks and crannies – for example, look at the Klimt-like spiral pattern at the right.

Portraits and house portraits (and even pet portraits!) from photographs comprise much of Wilder’s work, but she takes a variety of other sorts of commissions as well. Trained as a graphic artist, she has an excellent and well-tuned sensitivity to period typography that makes her work a perfect match for any Craftsman interior. Drop her a line if you are interested in buying a print or hiring her to do a portrait.

  1. I used to collect artwork by Alfonse Mucha. I absolutely love the portraits she has done in the deco style. It would have never occurred to me to paint portaits in this way. Fabulous! What a great talent.
